Facebook logo
Facebook yesterday launched the "Facebook for every phone" application which aims Java enabled mobile devices, the platform on which most of the phones run. Facebook targets users with feature phones with the app. It looks Facebook is feeling the heat by Google+ and is looking to strengthen roots with its users. The Facebook for every phone app is a simple yet snappy app with which you can update your status, read messages, accept friend requests, view notifications etc and also upload photos, which makes it quite  powerful.

Facebook has also partnered with several carriers worldwide to offer free data usage for the 90 days. Carrier partners include Airtel, Aircel and Reliance in India.
Here are two screenshot's I have taken from my mobile phone of the Facebook for every phone app:

There are apps available for smartphone's running on Android, Blackberry, Nokia and iOS devices already but  you can opt to use the Java app which is much lighter and snappier and will use much less data than other apps and mobile sites.
Visit d.facebook.com/install from your mobile browser to download the app to your phone, the app is also available on app store's such as Getjar and Appia.
